Expanding International Learning Experiences: School of Education, Walailak University Participates in Academic Visit at Universiti Putra Malaysia

Faculty members and students from the School of Education, Walailak University, participated in “The Academic Visit and Field-Based Learning Program” at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia. The program provided participants with valuable opportunities to broaden their academic perspectives, experience education in an international environment, and strengthen academic connections between the two institutions.

A key component of the program was the exchange of knowledge and experiences in educational research. Faculty members and students had opportunities to learn about different approaches, perspectives, and practices in education at Universiti Putra Malaysia. The academic exchange encouraged discussions on teaching, learning, and educational research while allowing participants to explore ideas that could contribute to the further development of education and teacher preparation.

In addition to academic activities, cultural exchange played an important role in the program. Students from the School of Education participated in cultural performances showcasing Thai identity and cultural heritage to faculty members and students at Universiti Putra Malaysia. The activity provided a meaningful platform for participants from both institutions to learn from one another, appreciate cultural diversity, and strengthen friendships through shared experiences.

Participants also visited learning facilities and educational laboratories at Universiti Putra Malaysia, including the Smart Classroom, Microteaching Laboratory, and other teaching and learning laboratories. These visits enabled faculty members and students to observe how modern learning environments, educational technologies, and specialized facilities can be integrated into teaching and teacher preparation.

Through direct exposure to an international academic environment, students were able to strengthen essential competencies such as intercultural communication, teamwork, adaptability, and learning through real-world experiences. Faculty members also had opportunities to exchange academic perspectives and explore knowledge that may contribute to future developments in teaching, learning, and educational research.
