The School of Education, Walailak University, organized the “Social Sciences and Economics Camp” from August 7–8, 2026, at Walailak University. The two-day, one-night program welcomed upper secondary students from Huasaibumroongrat School and provided them with an opportunity to experience learning beyond the classroom through practical activities and direct exposure to the university environment.

Throughout the camp, students participated in a variety of hands-on learning activities covering economics, sociology, social analysis, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication. The activities were designed to help participants connect academic concepts with real-life situations and contemporary social issues, encouraging them to view society and economic systems from multiple perspectives.

One of the key components of the program involved developing and presenting social business ideas. Through this activity, students practiced creative thinking, problem-solving, and the application of economic and social knowledge to issues that affect communities. The exercise also encouraged participants to consider how business concepts can be developed not only for economic value but also for positive social impact.

The camp placed strong emphasis on collaborative learning. Students worked together in groups, shared responsibilities, exchanged opinions, and learned to communicate their ideas effectively. These experiences helped strengthen important skills such as teamwork, active listening, leadership, adaptability, and presentation, all of which are essential for future academic and professional development.

Participants also had the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of university life through activities designed and facilitated by faculty members and students from the School of Education. This provided the visiting students with a broader understanding of university-level learning and allowed them to explore different approaches to education outside the traditional secondary school classroom.

The Social Sciences and Economics Camp aimed to promote experiential learning while developing key 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. At the same time, the program sought to inspire students to discover their interests, explore possible academic pathways, and prepare for future study at the higher education level.
