The Dance Education Program, School of Education, Walailak University, organized a workshop entitled “Developing Innovation and Technology Skills for Specialized Dance Instruction” for third-year Dance Education students. The activity aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge, skills, and ability to apply innovation and technology effectively in dance education within contemporary learning environments.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Charun Boonkarn, Acting Dean of the School of Education. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of preparing future teachers to adapt to technological changes and to use digital tools creatively in teaching and learning. This is particularly important in specialized fields such as dance education, where professional knowledge, creativity, performance skills, and instructional design must be integrated to create meaningful learning experiences.

The workshop featured Assistant Professor Dr. Chanin Thitipechkul, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, Faculty of Education, Suan Dusit University, as the guest speaker. He shared academic knowledge and professional experience related to educational innovation and the use of technology in teaching, with a particular emphasis on selecting appropriate tools, techniques, and learning media that can be integrated into dance instruction.

The workshop was conducted as part of the course “Innovation in Specialized Dance Instruction,” which is designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Through lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and the exchange of ideas, students were encouraged to explore new approaches to designing learning activities that respond to the needs of learners in the digital age.

The activity also broadened students’ perspectives on the role of technology in supporting arts and cultural education. Students learned how digital tools can be used to enhance content presentation, create instructional media, design engaging learning activities, and provide more diverse and accessible learning experiences.
