Walailak University School of Education Joins National Council of Deans Meeting, Advancing “KRU PREMIUM” in Alignment with Teachers’ Council Policy
Associate Professor Dr. Charan Boonkan, Acting Dean of the School of Education, and Assistant Professor Dr. Phongphan Khamphan, Acting Deputy Dean of the School of Education, Walailak University, participated in the 2nd Meeting of the Council of Deans of Faculties of Education in Thailand for 2026 to exchange perspectives and gain insights into the national direction for teacher education and development.
During the meeting, participants were briefed on guidelines for producing high-quality teacher graduates presented by the Secretary-General of the Teachers’ Council of Thailand. The guidelines emphasize the development of teachers with competencies that respond effectively to changes in society and the evolving needs of the country. Key areas of focus include academic knowledge, professional competencies, ethics and morality, as well as the ability to develop and apply educational innovations.
These directions are closely aligned with the vision of the School of Education, Walailak University, which is committed to producing “KRU PREMIUM”—high-quality teachers who demonstrate professionalism, possess a strong teacher identity and spirit, and are well prepared to contribute to educational development and create meaningful value for society.
The meeting also provided an important opportunity to strengthen academic and professional networks and to exchange knowledge and best practices with executives from the Teachers’ Council of Thailand and administrators from teacher education institutions across the country. The knowledge and perspectives gained from the meeting will contribute to the further development of academic programs, the enhancement of faculty members’ professional capabilities, and the continuous improvement of the quality of students enrolled in Walailak University’s Bachelor of Education programs.
Through these efforts, the School aims to ensure that its graduates are fully equipped with the knowledge, competencies, professional values, and practical skills required to become highly capable professional teachers in the future.
The School of Education, Walailak University, remains firmly committed to its mission of developing high-quality teacher graduates under the “KRU PREMIUM” concept, with the goal of nurturing future educators who can respond effectively to the needs of Thailand and the global community while contributing to sustainable educational and social development.
