On August 26, 2026, the School of Education, Walailak University, organized English Day #68 for the 2026 academic year under the theme “EduStage: Where Majors Come to Life!” at Room 03301, Lecture Building 3, Walailak University. The activity provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their English language skills through creative and interactive activities while developing confidence and competencies essential for their future careers as professional teachers.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Charun Boonkarn, Vice President for Academic Affairs in Humanities and Social Sciences and Acting Dean of the School of Education. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of English as a key tool for learning, communication, and professional development in contemporary society. He also encouraged students to use the activity as an opportunity to practice their skills, express themselves confidently, and apply their knowledge in meaningful contexts.

English Day #68 was designed to enhance students’ English proficiency across all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. At the same time, the activity promoted confidence, creativity, communication, teamwork, and self-expression through a variety of activities, including public speaking, English song performances, and short plays.

These activities enabled students to move beyond classroom-based language learning and apply English through authentic practice. Students were encouraged to communicate, perform, collaborate, and solve problems together while using English as an active medium of expression.

Under the theme “EduStage: Where Majors Come to Life!”, students from different majors were also able to present the identity, ideas, and creativity of their respective fields through English. This created a learning environment in which participants could appreciate the diversity of academic disciplines while recognizing the role of English in connecting professional knowledge with broader communication contexts.

The event further provided students with opportunities to practice planning, role allocation, teamwork, and problem-solving in real situations. Faculty members also attended the activities and supported the students, helping create an encouraging atmosphere that strengthened students’ confidence and motivation.

The overall atmosphere was lively, creative, and engaging, with students demonstrating their abilities in language use, communication, performance, and presentation. The activity also encouraged participants to learn from one another and use feedback and experience to further develop their skills.

English Day #68 reflects the School of Education’s commitment to developing students’ competencies in language, communication, creativity, collaboration, and self-confidence. Through experiential and participatory learning, the School aims to prepare future teachers who are capable of applying English effectively together with essential 21st-century skills in an increasingly dynamic educational and social environment.
