The Teaching Professional Experience Center, School of Education, Walailak University, conducted a field visit to its partner schools under the School Partnership Network Development Project for Teaching Professional Experience, part of the Bachelor of Education program at Walailak University. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration among university administrators, school leaders, teachers, and mentor teachers while monitoring student teachers’ professional experiences. It also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and recommendations to enhance the quality of teacher education in response to the evolving needs of educational institutions.
On this occasion, Mr. Sutin Yusabai, Deputy Director for General Administration, warmly welcomed the delegation from Walailak University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Charan Boonkarn, Acting Dean of the School of Education, and Associate Professor Dr. Walaiporn Mektrairat, Acting Head of the Teaching Professional Experience Center, together with members of the Center’s development team. The delegation engaged in discussions with school administrators and mentor teachers to exchange ideas and explore approaches to strengthening the professional development of student teachers and enhancing the effectiveness of school-based teaching experiences.
A key highlight of the visit was a special lecture delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Charan Boonkarn, entitled “The Power of Collaborative Partnerships in Developing PREMIUM Teachers: Academic Excellence and Professional Expertise in Practice.” The lecture emphasized the essential role of universities and partner schools in collaboratively preparing future teachers with strong academic knowledge, effective instructional skills, and professional competencies applicable to real classroom settings.
The session also provided a platform for school administrators and mentor teachers to share their experiences, observations, and recommendations regarding student teachers’ professional practice. These valuable insights will contribute to the continuous improvement of the teacher education curriculum and professional experience training processes, ensuring greater effectiveness and alignment with the practical demands of today’s educational environment.
This field visit represents another significant step in strengthening sustainable partnerships between Walailak University and its network of partner schools. By bridging academic knowledge with authentic classroom practice, the initiative seeks to equip future educators with the knowledge, practical skills, ethical values, and professional standards essential to the teaching profession.
Through continued collaboration, the School of Education remains committed to developing “PREMIUM Teachers” who demonstrate academic excellence, professional competence, and the ability to foster meaningful learning experiences, unlock learners’ potential, and respond effectively to the changing landscape of education for a sustainable future.
