School of Education, Walailak University Signs MOU with Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Offices 1–4 to Strengthen Teacher Education and Educational Development
On August 19, 2026, the Teaching Professional Experience Center, School of Education, Walailak University, organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the School of Education, Walailak University, and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Offices 1, 2, 3, and 4. The collaboration aims to establish a strong academic network and jointly enhance teacher preparation, educational personnel development, and the overall quality of education in the region.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. The partnership represents an important step in strengthening connections between the University, educational authorities, and schools across Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
A major focus of the collaboration is to enhance teaching professional experience for students of the School of Education. Through cooperation with schools under the four Primary Educational Service Area Offices, pre-service teachers will have greater opportunities to apply academic knowledge, educational theories, and professional teaching skills in authentic school environments. They will also gain valuable experience through engagement with mentor teachers, school administrators, and educational professionals.
Beyond teaching practicum, the MOU covers several areas of academic cooperation, including professional development for teachers and educational personnel, educational research, innovation development, and teaching and learning. The partnership will encourage the exchange of academic knowledge, professional expertise, practical experiences, and educational resources between Walailak University and the participating educational service area offices.
The collaboration also creates opportunities to connect university-based knowledge with real challenges and needs identified in schools. These connections can contribute to the development of research, educational innovations, and teaching approaches that are relevant to local contexts and can be practically implemented to improve learning outcomes.
By establishing cooperation with all four Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Offices, the School of Education aims to expand professional learning environments for pre-service teachers while strengthening the relationship between teacher education institutions and schools.
This MOU marks an important milestone in building a sustainable educational network based on shared knowledge, resources, and responsibilities. Through continued collaboration, the participating organizations will work together to develop teachers and educational personnel, strengthen educational innovation, and enhance the quality of education while preparing future teachers with the knowledge, skills, professional experience, and adaptability required for a changing educational landscape.
