On February 10, 2026, the School of Education, Walailak University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Charun Boonkarn, Acting Dean of the School of Education, together with faculty members and staff, participated in the 2026 “Thuat Tumpang” Merit-Making Ceremony held at the Tumpang archaeological site, Walailak University.

The event was organized by the Center for Student Promotion and Development, Walailak University, as part of the University’s mission to preserve and promote arts and culture. The ceremony aimed to maintain local beliefs and traditions while strengthening the connection between cultural heritage and the daily life of the university community.

Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presided over the ceremony. The event was attended by university executives, faculty and staff members, students, and residents from surrounding communities, with more than 300 participants gathering to take part in the annual cultural and religious activities.

The atmosphere throughout the event was warm and filled with a strong sense of faith and community. The participation of people from both the University and neighboring areas reflected the close relationship between Walailak University and its local communities, as well as a shared commitment to preserving traditions and cultural values that have long been associated with the area.
