The School of Education, Walailak University, organized the “Preparatory Program for Bachelor of Education Students Prior to Teaching Practicum” from 28–29 April 2026 at the Main Conference Hall, Thaiburi Building. The program aimed to enhance students’ competencies and readiness before undertaking their professional teaching practicum in schools.

On Tuesday, 28 April 2026, the program commenced with an overview of the project objectives delivered by Dr. Chanokmon Kongyok, Acting Head of the Teacher Professional Experience Center. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Charan Boonkarn, Acting Dean of the School of Education, who also delivered an opening address and words of encouragement to the students.

During the morning session, students participated in a workshop on professional teaching standards, focusing on learner-centered lesson plan design, the integration of innovation, technology, and modern educational tools such as Active Learning and AI Tools, as well as the formulation of measurable learning objectives. The session was conducted by Assistant Professor Captain Dr. Pongthep Jiraro. In addition, students engaged in hands-on workshop activities to practice designing and improving their lesson plans to ensure they were modern, effective, and diverse.

In the afternoon session, the program expanded students’ knowledge in Classroom Action Research (CAR), emphasizing the integration of the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process and the PAOR cycle (Plan, Act, Observe, Reflect) to systematically improve teaching and learning practices. Students learned how to analyze instructional challenges (Pain Points) derived from lesson plans and formulate effective research topics before participating in workshop activities on research proposal writing and peer review discussions.

The day concluded with a summary of key knowledge and practical guidelines on adaptation and professional conduct during the teaching practicum period. Students also received recommendations on conducting research alongside teaching practice, together with templates and examples of successful research projects to support the application of these concepts in real classroom contexts.
