Walailak University School of Education Organizes Advisor–New Student Meetings Across Seven Majors to Prepare Future Professional Teachers
The School of Education, Walailak University, organized an “Academic Advisors Meet New Students” activity for first-year students in the 2026 academic year across all seven majors: Thai Language, English, Social Studies, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Physical Education, and Dance Education.
The activity was designed to provide new students with an opportunity to meet and become familiar with their academic advisors while receiving essential information about their studies, academic planning, personal development, and university life. It also aimed to help students build confidence and prepare for their transition into higher education and the professional teacher education pathway.
During the sessions, academic advisors provided guidance on curriculum structures, study plans for each academic year, effective learning approaches at the university level, time management, student responsibilities, and participation in extracurricular activities. These experiences are considered important elements in developing the knowledge, skills, and competencies required of future teachers.
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Charun Boonkarn, Acting Dean of the School of Education, visited and met with new students from all seven majors. He delivered words of encouragement and welcomed the students as they began their educational journey at Walailak University. He emphasized the importance of continuous self-development, responsibility, dedication to learning, and openness to new experiences as essential foundations for becoming competent and professional teachers in the future.
The activity also provided a friendly and supportive environment in which students could exchange ideas, ask questions, and discuss academic and personal concerns directly with their advisors. This close interaction helped strengthen relationships between students and faculty members while supporting students as they adjust to university life.
The “Academic Advisors Meet New Students” activity forms an important part of the School of Education’s student support and development system. Through close collaboration among students, academic advisors, and the School, Walailak University aims to help students navigate university life with confidence, develop clear educational goals, and grow into high-quality education graduates equipped with professional knowledge, essential competencies, ethical values, and a strong commitment to the teaching profession.
